5 out of 5 stars Fantastic bluetooth headset - Must have for On-line gaming...   January 5, 2009

I ordered this headset since the official Sony bluetooth headset due to constant delays for the release date and it pushed me into purchasing a bluetooth headset already out there in the market. Thanks Sony!
The only issue I had with the headset was the initial setup as I didn't read the manual right away note: hold down the button for 10 seconds and the PS3 will pick up your new headset and once your connected you'll see the light turn into solid green.

Headset also charges with the PS3 no need for the adapter...

Works a treat with COD and Resistance 2 :) adds new dimensions to On-line gameplay...

Only drawback here is it is slightly more expensive than the Sony headset.

5 out of 5 stars Gr8 item, gr8 price   June 17, 2009

This is well worth getting.

It links to the PS3 without a dongle. Charges off an AC adaptor or off the playstation using the USB cord for your controllers.
Comfortable to wear for long periods with good, clear sound.
Not had any issue with battery capacity - worn it for days on end without charging (depends how much chatting you get into).

Used to have the wired version I got with Socom game on PS2. I much prefer this overhead type to the ones that hang off your ear.

And for this price - how can you go wrong?

After searching longingly for a headset (I used to own a gioteck headset however it was completely rubbish due to connection and pairing issues)I stumbled across this the Logitech Vantage Bluetooth Headset for PS3. After recieving it in the post i immediately ripped it open to find a good un-flimsy headset and after trying it, I was relieved to find that it is extremely confortable. After putting it on to charge for merely 2 hours I was ready to play. Despite the fact that, unlike the Xbox 360 you cannot do party chat with friends playing a different game to you. I found one of my friends and partied up on Call of Duty 5. He said that the quality of the sound was immaculate and there was no background noise thanks to the special feature that reduces it. Including the fact that the Playstation has a voice changer option, this headset was completely perfect for everything. From Playing Fifa with your friends and complimenting them on an amazing goal to ordering your squad for an Assualt on Rainbow Six. I really recommend this headset and in my opinion it is an essential buy for any Playstation Gamer who looks for comfort whilst playing.

why splash out on an offical one when this one works just as well and is half the price a nobrainer I think.

5 out of 5 stars Quality headset which is comfortable and without any echo   December 31, 2009

Says it all in the title really. My Sony Headset was very uncomfortable and my ear would ache badly after 15-20 mins of use. The Logitech headset is so much more comfortable than the Sony. It has a flexible head clip/strap that comfortably sits around the head without any pressure - even on my fairly big head. The head clip is designed to fit around the back of the head but can be configured to go over the top of the head if that is your preference (much like the Xbox 360 headset). The earpiece also sits comfortably over the ear (not inside the ear hole) and its design is such that the top of the ear, as well as the head clip, support the earpiece securely in place. Though it did take me 5-10 mins to work out how to fit it correctly on my head. Both the headclip and the inner part of the earpiece can be spun around to fit to comfort.

The sound quality is excellent both earpiece and microphone. My friends have told me I sound better on the Logitech (clearer and without interruption) and that my voice never cuts out - unlike the Sony headset which they complained would cut out mid sentence so I had to repeat myself often. The noise cancellation seems better on the Logitech too. I do not get any echo whatsoever, as compared to the Sony headset where I would hear what I just said back through the earpiece a second later - even after experiementing with the PS3's built in noise cancellation feature - most frustating.

Other pros for the Logitech:

Can be recharged by the PS3 or by the supplied mains adaptor - really good if you want to free up a USB port on the PS3.

The rechargeable battery life is excellent at 12 hours+ between charges.

The volume up and down buttons are much easier to use compared to the super tiny buttons on the Sony Headset.

The cons (negatives) of the Logitech:

No charge level indicator like you get on-screen with the Sony Headset.

No indication of mute on-screen.

Both these previous negatives are mitigated by the headset itself which will tell you when the battery is about to expire (20 minute warning) through audible and LED indication. So the negatives are not really negatives at all.

Reliablity wise I don't know. Time will tell. However, to me this headset performs better in all respects (except for the minor ones highlighted earlier) than the Sony Headset.
