5 out of 5 stars The Logitech Driving Force GT   October 29, 2009

Okay, now as you might know Logitech is one of the leading manufacturers of computer hardware and steering wheels, and to be honest with you, they have made the best steering wheel I have ever used. I have heard that the Logitech G25 is very good but I couldn't Imagen it to be much better than this.

The Logitech Driving Force GT provides a strong and realistic experience for all players. Personally after you have got used to the wheel you notice it becomes easier and lighter to use (If not just change the settings on the game).

The way the wheel turns is strong and firm, also I love the way the wheel adapts to different road surfaces and terrain. E.g. in Colin McRae: DIRT 2 the wheel is very shaky and aggressive due to the rough road conditions, like bumps and dips.

For the pedals, although they're made from plastic, they are pretty lifelike and strong. You will notice the brake has more resistance than the accelerator and apart from there being no clutch the pedals do a very good job and work very well.

The pros of this product are:
- The force feedback
- Steering wheel size (11 inches)
- Button access
- Vibration
- Mounting access
- 900 degrees of wheel rotation
- Works well with The PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2
- Official Gran Turismo 5 product

The cons:
- Sequential gear change (No six speed)
- No clutch

Very good games to use with the Logitech Driving Force GT:
- Need For Speed Shift (PS3)
- Gran Turismo 5 Prorogue (PS3) (The Official Gran Turismo 5 still awaiting release date)
- Gran Turismo 4 (PS2)
- Race Driver GRID (PS3)
- Colin McRae: DIRT 2 (PS3)

4 out of 5 stars Good (at least for Grid)   March 30, 2009

I have this for Codemasters GRID car racing game and am very pleased indeed, you really get the sensation of actually driving. It is pretty robust and that includes the pedals. My only hesitation is that in GRID at least it is quite tricky to set up within the game to get it interacting with the game in a realistic way, there are a lot of settings that can be tweaked. However there is quite a lot of advice about which settings to use on various message boards. I find that the 200degree setting works better than the 900 degree default setting.

5 out of 5 stars The Best Yet   March 6, 2009

I have had more steering wheels than I should remember. This is the best, I have only played GRID so far, but it is amazing. Having tried to master the PS3 controller I relented and got this wheel and the difference is stark. 900 degrees is so slow in this game it is amost funny, 200 dgrees is spot on, so is the FF load and strength adjustments. Not having to fight the wheel as with some. Cant wait for GT5

5 out of 5 stars Logitech Driving Force GT Steering Wheel (PS3)   July 23, 2009

First off I would like to commend Amazon for their great service; on receiving my Logitech DFGT wheel first you notice how well it's made when removing it from the box and packaging. Next how easy it is to install, just plug and play, then the feel of the wheel in your hands, feels nice and sturdy all the buttons are just at your finger tips, plus you can program all these to your own requirements.

You switch on and the DFGT wheel will automatically turn from lock to lock twice by it's powerful force feed back motors as it is recognised by your PS3, it's now ready for action.

The DFGT wheel in use is nice and precise, you can follow a good line through bends and it goes not wonder on the straights, gear change can be done by ether stick or paddle buttons, which these small buttons could of have a better design at the rear of the steering wheel , but they do work well.

The peddle plate is made from plastic and is very light, but this dose not detract from how good they feel under your feet, it's very easy to feather both brake and accelerator to control your speed, plus the carpet gripper does a great job at holding the peddle plate soundly in place.

All in all 10 out of 10 for a great product at this price.

5 out of 5 stars Wheely Wheely good!   April 9, 2009

This steering wheel is excellent. It has quite powerful force feedback which you can adjust, if you're driving on a twisty track you can get quite hot trying to keep the car on the road. -Who needs a Wii fit?!
This wheel does work with the PS2 also, you just can't use the option of adjusting traction control etc with the controls on the wheel.
The wheel is very realistic, if you go into a spin & let go, the wheel will turn by itself in the exact fashion of a real wheel. It also goes light when ever the front wheels leave the ground or if you are on grass etc.
There is no calibration needed, the wheel does this itself when you turn it on.
It also has a cool glowing GT symbol in the centre of the wheel too.
