Fan Service That's Functional March 19, 2009 James Cameron (a world of my own) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
The HotDO Hand Cannon is by far the best add-on to the Wii I've bought. After the extreme disapointment of the Wii Zapper, with its awkward grip and reliance on a nunchuck in the handle, I was about ready to give up on good guns for the Wii.
The Hand Cannon is the most perfect arcade rail-shooter addon for ANY system i've had. Well balance grip means that the remote isn't overly top-heavy in your hand, sites for those important boss fights and perhaps the most important factor...real arcade action feel.
This is perfect for anyone who plays "the House of the Dead" games, but is also great with "Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles" "Ghost Squad" and is acually marginally better than the zapper on "link's crossbox training"
Glad that B button is'nt fire February 19, 2009 Mr. Philip G. Sorrell (Littlehampton (UK)) 34 out of 36 found this review helpful
This gun is fantastic, it looks like a magnum revolver which is Very cool, and the handle has grip so it feels comfortable to hold. And i am also happy about the fact that the B button is not fire unlike the wii zapper, but insted it is a proper trigger which makes it seem more life-like
P.S to reload don't bother pushing the A button just shake the Gun it is alot easyer. thanks for reading!
Brilliant, but not one for the limp wristed!! January 8, 2010 B. N. Swift (UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
OMG!!! This gun rocks. However, if you fancy playing co-op mode with your little lady, arthritic grandfolks or weaker little brother then bare in mind the reason why this gun feels so good to use in the 1st place i.e. the weight. Clocking in at an impressive 500g & with the Wii controller sited so far forward in the barrel then this Hand Cannon really does live upto it's name. So... if you need a lighter weapon then I can highly recommend theVenom Light Blaster Gun (Wii) at less than 200g & with the Wii controller mounted closer to the handle it's a more compact & well balanced weapon of choice. Also the design is based on James Bonds Walther P99 so it's cool too.
official HOTD hand cannon April 15, 2009 C. Geraghty (uk) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
good gun, wii remote fits inside well and feels much like the arcade gun
only issue is its very heavy at the front with the remote in it
easy cure, undo the cover on the handle
2x AA batterys will sit perfect in the gap inside, screw cover back on
does make the gun a little more heavy, but it feels much better balanced
Better than the Wii Zapper! February 15, 2009 AJE 19 out of 22 found this review helpful
Purchased this for House of the Dead: Overkill game and it most definately made the game for enjoyable for me. Back in 2007 I was looking forward to the Wii Zapper only to be disappointed when it required two hands to use and wasn't accurate at all.
This, however, doesn't give you hand cramp, has iron sights! (made of plastic though ;-), good balanced weight and doesn't feel cheap.
It also has a hidden cable area if you want to connect a nunchuk.
...recommended for on-rails shooters.
