| Customer Reviews: Very Shaky picture - even without zooming July 27, 2009 Chakrit Ratanamook (Manchester, UK) 28 out of 29 found this review helpful
Hi, Sorry to say this product disappoints me badly. After doing alot of researches online and reading reviews of this camcorder, I purchased it along with the memory card and USB reader.
The function is really basic as I'd have expected. Well afterall, point and shoot is something I really want just to get the job done. Though, the worst part is the camcorder shake. Holding my breath and shoot is definitely less than ideal, let alone shooting while walking (forget about zooming). Shooting in the dim lit light is less than useless, or perhaps just really poor in a normal lit room.
Why did I buy it? Coz of the budget constraint... lured by the cheap price and fancy silver colour.
Disappointed with this Canon FS200 March 11, 2010 G. MOORE (Christchurch, New Zealand) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Being in the market for a more modern & smaller video camera,And having read many good reviews on this camera,I took the plunge & purchased it.How foolish! One of my main requirements was that the camera needed to have both headphone socket & socket to use a good quality after market microphone. This camera had both. Most camera's today no longer have them.I found both these sockets to be very good.CONS!Standard definition recorded at std speed was very disappointing. The main use I required for this camera was to record outside music concerts.I found my old 8 year old Sony HI 8 camera produced far better picture quality even recorded in long play.Another Con was the MOD.files used were not compatible to make it easy to download to DVD.As I had such high hopes for this Canon,Am sorry that I will be returning it to retailer.
Good camcorder BUT February 26, 2010 snowjoke (UK) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is a neat little camcorder which makes good quality videos and is easy to use. HOWEVER, beware the claim that you can easily make DVDs to share with family and friends. You can burn your videos onto DVDs, it's true, although the software is not especially user friendly. BUT if you want to share the DVDs with people (grandparents in our case) who have a DVD player but no computer - well sorry, but you can't. The DVD player won't recognise the Canon Legria videoclips. There may be some way of getting around this, but I haven't found it yet. Very poor show from Canon for not making this clear and for not suggesting remedies. Another minor gripe - the video editing software that comes wityh the Legria is really very primitive, and again not user-friendly. All you can do is splice together bits of video and put a title page on - not terribly exciting.
