5 out of 5 stars Excellent PC   September 13, 2009

My Packard Bell base unit died telling me it had registry structure errors and was unusable and also refused recovery. As the computer was 7 years old I saw this Zoostorm base unit and took the plunge. Amazon delivery was as superb as ever and I just plugged in the monitor, keyboard and mouse along with the ethernet cable from my modem and turned it on. I was online in no time and even though I am new to Windows Vista I found it was only a prettied up XP with more visuals but the controls are pretty much the same. Everything is pre-installed on the computer so you just leave it to load. Full factory recovery is available through F8 bios in case of any future problems. Numerous software packages are also included....Great buy.

The company despatched it quickly and, with my sons help, it was up and running quickly and with no problems. I would reccomend both the company and the computer.

5 out of 5 stars Ideal for Windows and Linux   August 25, 2009

We bought two of these PCs, one for my wife and one for me, and we are very pleased. For anyone interested in running Linux I can recommend this PC. I have added Ubuntu Linux to mine using WUBI and have it dual booting with Vista.

4 out of 5 stars Great 'Puter, Shame about The Vista...   January 18, 2010

This is a fab computer IN EVERY WAY, except for the Vista package that came with mine. Vista is a lovely operating system in itself, it is just all the compatability (software) problems you have to overcome with it. A day of fiddling (and downloading correction software from Microsoft) had me cooking on gas, however, and I now have a fast, powerful, good looking & reliable system with oodles & oodles of memory (well, I AM easily pleased as my last one WAS a Sinclair ZX-10.... only joshing!). The assemblers now typically load the Windows system into the actual bowels of the computer nowadays (mine was like this), and so you get no disc with the system (confused me at first). I do have a copy of XP at home, but am now glad that I kept the Vista, which actually is a very beautiful system (if not for the incompatibilty/conflicting problems of much available software). It somehow feels wrong to overwrite the newer (installed) software with an old version of XP, but if you really fear Vista that much (there really is no need... I have EVENTUALLY found) then this can be easily done (at the cost of also losing any extra goodies installed at assembly).
I cannot guarantee that the system will be sold with Vista when anyone buys this in the future (so please check)! I could be wrong, but isn't there an inexpensive Windows 7 upgrade available for Vista (I thought I heard of this somewhere)?
My computer came with Works word processor (a free version that simply shows the odd discrete advert). You are able to convert documents back to Word compatibility with this, AND I suggest downloading the free "Word Document Viewer" from the Microsoft site (which basically allows me to deal with both Works & Word documents). It also came with an excellent 16X DVD RW (so downloading Nero 9... which IS Vista compatible... was a must)...
A perfect budget system for those whose computer has given up the ghost (ie: monitor, keyboard, mouse, soundsystem, printer ETC still ready to rumble)...
As stated PLEASE check operating system fitted at the time you read this... If it HAD come with Windows 7, those 4 little stars up there would have actually been 5! I am very please with my (Vista....) Zoostorm PC nevertheless.
Buy one NOW!!!

5 out of 5 stars So far....perfect for the price.   December 21, 2009

Had this unit a little while now and I have to say that for the price it is excellent.I use it for the usual web browsing/email etc but it impresses me most with its ability to process digital images quickly and efficiently in PSE6.
OK,the fan is a bit noisy but I dont find that an issue in use and I have generally been happy with everything about this computer right from its easy initial set up onwards.Good computer/Great value.
